Porto, November 22, 2021 – blueberry has recently won two International Awards: E-mobility Awards, and the German Design Awards. The fast charger of the Portuguese company i-charging was the first to hit the market globally with power up to 600 kW, and is now collecting international awards in different categories, which reinforces the excellence of the solution blueberry and i-charging’s reputation in the world. 

blueberry was first distinguished with the E-mobility Awards 2021 in the category EV Charging Equipment, for charging equipment and software development, as an “outstanding category winner”. According to the organization, blueberry won for “a most well thought-through concept, suitable for all types of vehicles and all charging demands”.

Earlier this week, the German Design Council  awarded i-charging and blueberry with the German Design Award 2022 for Excellent Product Design in the category Public Design. “Outstanding design means providing answers to the challenges of our time and thinking design further ahead. The top-class international jury honors these groundbreaking design achievements – and the German Design Awards make the design trends visible across all sectors in a glamorous setting”, states the German Design Council.

The German Design Council, the expert for brand and design in Germany, bestows the German Design Award. Commissioned by the highest authority to represent new developments in the German design industry. Established on the initiative of the German Bundestag (the lower house of German parliament) as a foundation in 1953, it supports the industry in all matters consistently aimed at generating an added brand value through design. As a result, the German Design Council is one of the world’s leading competence centres for communication and brand management in the field of design. The exclusive network of foundation members includes in addition to designers and design associations, in particular the owners and brand directors of numerous renowned companies.

i-charging was also a finalist at the eMove360º Awards 2021, in the category of Charging & Energy at the eMove360º Europe 2021 exhibition that happens once a year in Munich, Germany.

blueberry is the first fast charger to hit the market globally with power between 50 kW and 600 kW, featuring three possible configurations: blueberry, blueberry PLUS and blueberry CLUSTER. This solution allows charging all vehicles currently in circulation, as well as those that will be launched by brands in the future with batteries up to 1000 V.

The blueberry range is based on i-charging’s dynamicblue technology (patent pending), which responds to existing needs on the market, allowing sequential and simultaneous charging, as well as an unlimited number of outputs through the dynamic allocation of energy to each output.

This innovative product also includes a new cable management system, also patent pending, that easily expands and retracts as needed by the user a 4.7-meter-long cable that thus allows the user to effortlessly reach farther positions of the vehicle connector. blueberry chargers come equipped with a 32-inch screen that allows intuitive interaction, revolutionizing the user experience. In addition to the charging information, the large touch screen allows to have promotional videos or any other multimedia content. The system will be supported by the blueberry App.
